Overview
This cardiovascular grand rounds series delivers clinically relevant education focused on real-world decision-making across the spectrum of cardiovascular disease. Sessions emphasize critical appraisal of evidence, integration of guidelines with patient-specific factors, and recognition of gaps between trial data and everyday practice. Topics span arrhythmias, heart failure, ischemic heart disease, prevention, and structural interventions, with attention to multidisciplinary care and emerging therapies. Designed for cardiologists, trainees, and allied professionals, the series aims to improve diagnostic accuracy, therapeutic selection, and patient outcomes through thoughtful, evidence-informed discussion.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Critically appraise cardiovascular clinical trials, including assessment of study design, endpoints, and generalizability to real-world populations.
  2. Apply guideline-directed recommendations to the management of cardiovascular disease in diverse and complex patient populations.
  3. Integrate emerging evidence and new therapies into clinical decision-making across arrhythmias, heart failure, ischemic heart disease, and prevention.
  4. Identify gaps between clinical trial populations and real-world patients and adjust management strategies accordingly.
  5. Optimize use and titration of guideline-directed medical therapies for cardiovascular conditions, including heart failure and atrial fibrillation.
  6. Select appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic strategies based on individualized risk stratification and patient-specific factors.
  7. Evaluate the risks and benefits of medical versus interventional approaches in the management of cardiovascular disease.
  8. Incorporate multidisciplinary perspectives to improve coordination and delivery of cardiovascular care.
  9. Apply strategies to improve patient adherence, engagement, and shared decision-making in cardiovascular management.
  10. Reduce variability in clinical practice by implementing evidence-informed, high-value care approaches.
