Dr. Nilan Schnure is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon, where he also serves as the Director of Internal Medicine Ambulatory Point-of-Care Ultrasound and the Co-Director of Ultrasound Education within the Internal Medicine residency program. Originally from Bethesda, Maryland, Dr. Schnure completed his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology from Princeton University and his medical training, Internal Medicine residency, and Point-of-Care Ultrasound Fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He appreciates how point-of-care ultrasound brings clinicians back to the bedside, strengthening patient relationships, communication, and a shared understanding of physiology and disease processes, and he is passionate about point-of-care ultrasound education in primary care. He has served as faculty for multiple national point-of-care ultrasound courses with organizations such as the American College of Physicians and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
