Donald Davis, Jr., MD, recently joined the Lakeland Regional Health Physician Group as a General Surgeon and the Program Director of Surgery in the Graduate Medical Education Program. Dr. Davis, earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, and completed his Residency in General Surgery at the University of South Florida. Dr. Davis most recently served in various roles at Tampa General Hospital, including the Chair of General Surgery, Associate Professor of Surgery, Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Director, the Assistant General Surgery Residency Program Director, medical director of the surgical ICU, and a founding member the USF Hernia Center of Excellence . Dr. Davis has served as the Surgeon Champion for the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program as well as Principal Investigator and Sub-investigator in numerous research studies. He is certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery.
