Dr. Sowsan Rasheid is a Colon & Rectal (Colorectal) and General Surgeon practicing at Lakeland Regional.  She manages and cares for conditions affecting the gastrointestinal tract with specific focus to the small intestine, colon, rectum and anus.  She helps patients manage a variety of diseases affecting the colon and rectum, such as infectious, inflammatory functional, and malignant processes.  Dr. Rasheid employs the most advanced, minimally-invasive techniques, along with endoscopy and enhanced recovery protocols.   

Dr. Rasheid earned her Doctor of Medicine degree and as well as completed her General Surgery Residency at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida.  She also completed a Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida and the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Rasheid is certified in Colon & Rectal Surgery and Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.  She was an Assistant Professor and Associate Program Director in the Department of Surgery at the University of South Florida and is currently the Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.
